Setti Warren, a candidate for the Democratic nomination for Governor of Massachusetts, will be coming to Belchertown to meet voters this Friday evening, February 9th at 7:00 pm at Town Hall.
It will be an opportunity to meet him in advance of the March 3rd Belchertown Democratic Caucus. The Belchertown Democratic Town Committee and the Quabbin-Mount Holyoke Range Dems will be hosting the event at Town Hall, beginning at 7:00 PM. The public is invited. Meetings with other candidates will be arranged.
Setti Warren is an Iraq War veteran and two-term mayor of Newton. A graduate of Boston College and Suffolk University Law School, he worked in the White House and in John Kerry’s U.S. Senate office. When he was first elected Mayor of Newton, he faced a projected $40 million deficit. Upon leaving, Newton has a AAA-bond rating without sacrificing essential services.
Other candidates seeking the nomination are Jay Gonzalez, who served as Massachusetts Secretary of Administration and Finance, and Bob Massie, 1994 Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor.
