The Springfield Chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby invites the public to a screening of the documentary “Catching the Sun,” followed by a discussion that will include information on opportunities to address climate change. This event is free and all are welcome.
Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change.
The documentary film "Catching the Sun" tells the story of the global energy transition from the perspective of workers and entrepreneurs building solutions to income inequality and climate change with their own hands. It showcases the booming solar industry from multiple perspectives, from workers seeking new jobs to countries investing in innovative new technologies to capitalize on this trillion-dollar opportunity. The result is a compelling look at an industry in a global race to lead the clean energy future. It was named a 2016 New York Times Critics’ Pick, and as part of American Film Showcase, is shown at U.S. embassies and diplomatic missions around the world.
The event will be held in the Community Room of the Springfield Central Library, 220 State Street on Sunday, February 25 from 2:00-4:30 p.m.
